Dave has been out of college, unmarried, and without kids far longer than his buddies. The last one to still be a "free agent", Dave still spends his time being the most organized drug dealer on this side of the border...till he gets robbed of all his money and his boss sends him to be a drug mule. Needing to blend in and not stick out while crossing back in with a ton of marijuana, Dave decides the perfect cover, family on vacation. He enlists his neighbor Kenny to be his son, a homeless runaway girl Casey to play the daughter, and his neighbor who just quits working at the strip club, Rose. Together, they are the 'Millers.'

They travel into Mexico, pick up the drugs, and make it back to the border all in one piece. The problems begin once they hit the border. After a weed block tumbles out of the dashboard, a neighboring RV thinks they have a baby. After being forced out of the RV, they are about to get busted when Mexicans jump out of the under carriage of the car. From confused family dynamics, DEA, another drug lord, and a broken engine; there is a lot to get in the way of the Millers and a $100,000 pay out.

Sometimes, the Millers get a little closer than close.

So....how was the movie? It was okay. It had its moments. It also followed the same format as any movie that has an inept drug dealer trying to get his stash picked up or sold. I'd be more shocked and would have laughed more if I didn't watch Pineapple Express before seeing this movie. I think it hit its market a little late...or a little early. Now that drug laws in Colorado are changing, it may have been funnier if it waited till later.

The family dynamics though, that was completely original, yet so painfully familiar on so many levels. I'm used to having to deal with getting injured or sick on a trip and having to stop at the doctors, meeting the annoying family on the road and hoping they would go away only to be stuck with them for a full day, and taking off and not calling mom or dad when we would be somewhere. It's all things we've done on every trip, but being faced with the reality of it, was new and hilarious...especially since these people are not a family at all.

I would recommend this movie on a slow night that you don't want to put a whole lot of effort forward while thinking.
