Hard rock, metal, alternative. Feel one, you can feel them all with Alter Bridge, and on ABIII, its not change. Song such as Slip To The Void, the first song off the album, is a odd and haunting beginning that moves in on Myles Kennedy's low timber that echos above it. Once the intro is over, a hard and pulsing guitar part rings above it.

On Couer D'alene, a mellow guitar begins while heavier guitars echo after it. Then the heavier part of the intro with drums and the mellow guitar turns into a rushing and weaving guitar part. Mark Tremonti real brings out the harshness of the guitar while Kennedy has a powerful voice that shows that he is longing for his home. Tremonti also sings back-up vocals, and gives a lower, stable part on the back.

Many numerous songs go into this with favorites being Slip To The Void, Isolation, I Know It Hurts, Couer D'alene, Words Darker Than Wings, and Zero (Bonus Track.)

So being one of my favorite bands of all time, why didn't I rank this a 10? Because if you heard their album Blackbird, you would too. ABIII is well-rounded in different sounds, and all composed in a style unique to Alter Bridge, but it is nowhere near the excellence and caliber of technical difficulty that was predominant in the last album.

Still....this album, OH MY. On Words Darker Than Wings, its the first time Tremonti really leads at all vocally, and is really the beginning phase to his solo project, All I Was.

If you are ready to rock, pick up ABIII. Get it here. Trust me, you won't regret it. If you like rock.
