SPOILERS.
Haruhi Fujioka is an "audacious" honor student let into one of the most prestigious schools, Ouran Academy. Haruhi is looking for a quiet place to study, when she stumbles across Music Room #3. Turns out, its not an abandoned room to study, but where a 'host club' dwells. A host club is comprised of gentleman who entertain ladies for a fee. They have tea with them, put on parties for them, really just flirt with numerous amounts of women to pass the time. Haruhi is mistaken as a boy, and accidently knocks over a vase that costs eight million yen. She then is to work off her debt by being their 'errand' boy. She learns that there are different types of styles each of the hosts have, and that they cater to how the women feel. The twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, are the 'devilish, mischievous' type. Mori-senpai, is the strong silent type and is often around his cousin, Hunni, the boy-lolita type. Kyoya is considered the 'cool' type, but you see him with the financials of the club more than the ladies. Finally, there is prince-ly Tamaki. The twins, in a state of being terrors, remove Haruhi's glasses and Tamaki gets them the necessary stuff to transform Haruhi into a host. Apparently, he's 'pretty enough to be a girl.' He also is a natural with the ladies (only because she is one and that only a few people in the club have caught onto.) Eventually, they find out Haruhi is a girl. Throughout it all, the twins plague Tamaki with his love for Haruhi, but Hikaru secretly wants her for himself. They face everything from the physical exam (where men are to 'strip' for their chest measurements), a lady manager named Renge who is obsessed with Kyoya, Hikaru and Kaoru fighting and deciding who gets Haruhi, to Kyoya buying out his dad's company. Nothing is too small to turn into a giant mess with the Host Club.

This show has so much fluff in it, you'd think you were at a Marshmallow factory. I'll give it that some of the moments are over the top and ridiculous, but its suppose to cater to females. Apparently; fluffy, girly, impractical females. It's an interesting tale and it does have some darker elements in it to keep it grounded though. The animation is interesting, and it was one of the reasons that I decided to review at least one anime. I've always loved how they seem to have taken lots of effort to draw. Anyways, if you want light-hearted jello monsters of fluff, watch this show.
