Rating: 5 out of 10. Wasn't expecting much going in, but still ended up doing better than what I thought they would...seriously.

MILD SPOILERS. MOVIE IS INCREDIBLY PREDICTABLE, SO ITS NOT LIKE EVEN SAYING THE ENDING BLATANTLY IS GOING TO BE SHOCKING.

Besides that being the largest spoiler alert I've ever written. It's pretty true. These are the collective forces of Pineapple Express, Superbad, every awkward moment Jay Baruchel has ever had in a movie....which is all of them, and a bit of Hot Tub Time Machine. It's funny, crude, amusing, and has one liners that will be repeated to the dismay of many nerds girlfriends.

James Franco saves props from movies...and Jonah Hill is amused.

To start it off, all the actors play 'themselves.' Jay comes back to LA, and being the hipster that he denies he is...hates LA. Seth is his bromance partner, and they play videogames, smoke weed, and do everything that Seth Rogen does in the beginning of every single movie he ever plays. You know why Seth Rogen never plays a different character? Because he doesn't act....bear with me. HE IS THAT GUY. Seth Rogen, acts like Seth Rogen would in normal life...just a little over the top. That's why he's also the most BELIEVABLE character you will see. You know that a character like that exists, because it does. Anyway, back to the story. They go to James Franco's house for a party, and Jay kind hates all the other guys and doesn't want to. There's Michael Cera doing cocaine off everything, Emma Watson being charming, Craig Robinson making up a song about taking your panties off, and Rihanna singing back to him. Jay and Seth go to a convenient store and boom....people get sucked up into space. No one at the party that they rush back to believes them. Until the giant sinkhole in the middle of the front yard happens that is. The guy baricade themselves in the Franco mansion and ration out food. There are 5 of them left; Jay, Seth, Craig, Franco, and Jonah Hill. They find out Danny McBride snuck into Franco's party and there's six of them. Jay thinks its a book of Revelations type of Apocalypse, and no one believes him. Jonah gets pissed off by Jay, prays to God to kill him, and because of that...gets possessed. Emma Watson appears at one point, is freaked out by a rape-y comment by McBride, and steals all their water. The guys find out if they repent on life, they will go to heaven in the little space sucker in the sky.

Rihanna does not put up with butt-touching. I think Jason Segel was scared.

So, I didn't expect anything out of this movie. I read some reviews from viewers online and they were pretty bad, to put it mildly. I went in expecting an apocalypse story...and got the apocalypse version of Pineapple Express. Seriously. Maybe some Superbad and a little of some of the rest of the pictures these guys star in....but that was it. It amused me for the time and I didn't think once "Holy crap, I wish this would just be over." It could be because I had a surgery this week and am still on meds, but I was amused and laughed.

If you like Pineapple Express, Superbad, Hot Tub Time Machine, and any movie with Jay Baruchel in a non-serious part, you will be amused and enjoy this movie.
