NOT ENOUGH TO RUIN MOVIE.

This movie follows a young girl in Nazi Germany, whose mother gives her to another couple due to some circumstance. One never really find out why...but we are left to assume her mom is a communist. The Narrator is Death, and he has some sick, twisted obsession with this poor kid who happens to have death follow her around like Mary's little sheep. Liesel, the young girl, doesn't know how to read. AT ALL. Kind of ironic, cause she has this thing for books and you know, stealing them. Hence the title. Literally, if a book isn't bolted down, this kid will take it. Her first book, was the 'Gravedigger's Manual.' Hans, her adoptive dad, kind of blows at reading too, but together they muddle through this book. He starts a 'dictionary' in the basement where Liesel is able to write words and look them up later. Her best friend, a little German blondie by the name of Rudy, always torments her by asking when is she gonna kiss him. Having better things to do than think about boys, Liesel is a grade-A smart ass and kind of ignores him all the time. Can't give too much away after this, or it spoils the whole movie.

Cinematography was phenomenal, and really knew how to capture the essence and feeling of each in character. It showed how life could be gritty for the people who where even 'safe' from the Regime. Seriously, if your looking for a movie with feels, this ones got it. It'll get you every time, right in the feels.

Why did I give this an 8 out of 10 then? You really have no clue where the story is going or why something is going to happen. You really have no clue why. It's hard to care about a character if you really don't give a crap about them all. I'm also kind of mad how pretty much, the ending played out. Seriously? Really? I would give away more, but it is up to you to watch it.

So, if you are looking for a Nazi movie that's pretty good, a little sappy, a lot of tears so much so that you go to the bathroom and take a tub bath to tell your roommate "No, I wasn't crying, just bathing." Then you got the movie for you.
